Minoxidil

Minoxidil is a potassium channel opener that acts as a vasodilator. When applied topically, it shortens telogen, prolongs anagen, and increases hair follicle size. The exact mechanism for hair growth stimulation is not fully understood but involves upregulation of VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor).
